Abstract

In practice, there is a lack of widely used technology of sintering brass coating to e-contact thermal diffusion plants on the surface of the wire for the further manufacture of metal-cord in order to improve the adhesion of the rubber to the metal in the construction of multi-purpose tires. This disadvantage is the intensive heating wire and a substantial loss of its strength properties. The article presents the results of mathematical and physical modeling of thermal diffusion processing copper-zinc (brass) coating on the wire rod for steel cord. Mathematical modeling carried out in a software environment DEFORM 2D, physical modeling – the special semi-industrial installation of induction heating the surface of the wire for sintering brass coating. The result of such re-modeling established effective technological modes of induction heating (instead thermal diffusion at electrocontact heating), providing high quality brass coating and wire high carbon stock for metal cord. The data obtained can be used to develop technical specifications for the installation of new and modernization of existing installations of induction heating the surface of the sintering copper-zinc layer.
